Congressman Vern Ehlers Town Hall Meeting

Note from Vern Ehlers:

I will be hosting a public town hall meeting to hear comments and take questions from constituents of Michigan's Third Congressional District on Saturday, May 2 at 9:00 a.m. at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum in Grand Rapids.

The museum is located at 303 Pearl Street NW in downtown Grand Rapids. If you live or do business in the Third District, I encourage you to come to this meeting and voice your questions or comments. My district covers Barry and Ionia Counties and most of Kent County.

Following the meeting, I will present the Congressional Medal of Merit to several outstanding area students, and I will announce the winner of the 2009 Congressional Art Competition.

Please Mr. President, Save the Arts

To Celebrate the PTA National "Start the Art" Week, the Reflections committee is asking all students to print and doodle! The PTA is collecting "arts letters" across the nation -- all of which are to be drawn, sketched or written by students-- to submit to the White House by Dec. 15.
Tell the president of the United States how much the arts mean to you. Ask our president to please save the arts in schools. You may download a poster and write/draw your message on the back and DROP IT OFF to the collection box in the office under the PTSA mailbox by Dec. 1! Make a copy of your work, as originals won't be returned. If you have a piece of artwork you can copy, drop off a photocopy with your message on the back. Let's get the message out that art's at the heart of education!
